I'm late to the game of using a GPS and had never used one prior to buying my TomTom. I had been urged to buy one that wasn't too complicated due to my lack of "tech" experience. After many hours of research and talking with long-time GPS owners, I selected my TomTom 540TM. In short, after using it on both local trips and a more extended trip to the Adirondack Mountains in New York State, I can say I am thrilled with my selection. I did have some initial difficulties in getting it set up, but conversations with the helpful TomTom support team got me through those problems. I find it very intuitive to use this device and it has already "saved" me from being lost in the D.C. area. I would have no problem in recommending this TomTom 540TM to anyone looking for an updated, usable device.
